> Quick start

Four steps, about three minutes.

1. Send your first message

Open a chat and type what you want. It does not need to be a good prompt the first time. Ask a real question you already know the answer to, so you can judge the answer yourself.

2. Attach a file

Drag a file into the chat, or use Browse Files. Any file type works. If you have a body of work rather than one document, add it as a folder from a project, and the structure comes with it. See Attachments.

Ask something that could only be answered from that file. That is the fastest way to see what attaching is for.

3. Use a skill

Type / in the message box to open the skills menu and attach one. A skill is a set of instructions someone has already written, so Ocai answers in that style. See Skills.

4. Hand over something bigger

When you have a job with a clear finish, switch to autonomous mode, describe the outcome, and let it run. See Modes.

Keep your work

If you are going to come back to this, put it in a project. Files, instructions, and conversations stay together, so the next chat starts where the last one stopped. See Projects.

Where next

  • Overview for what else Ocai can do.
  • Credits if you want to know what things cost.
